The Czech Bike Tours trips are well organized and a great value, compared to other larger tour organizers. Petr Janota’s personal touch is evident throughout. The planned routes take you away from busy roads and guide you through the Czech countryside on national bike trails and quiet backroads. The biking equipment provided was first rate, and well suited for the routes. We booked the self-guided Prague-Vienna Odyssey for the last week in September, so we were one of Petr’s last trips for the season. He personally picked us up in Prague and drove us to Jindřichův Hradec to start out tour. Over coffee in a small café, he laid out the materials for our trip: guidebooks with directions and photographs, detailed maps, a GPS navigation system, and a local Czech cell phone. We relied primarily on the GPS, but we had at least two backups at the ready. Over the next seven days we enjoyed a different cycling experience each day, followed by wonderful hotels, and great meals at the restaurants Petr had recommended. Petr’s son picked up the luggage each day and moved it to the next destination. Many of the days offered a choice of routes to the next destination, so you could pick your level of difficulty. At the end of the trip, Petr again picked us up personally, and drove us two hours to our train station. We highly recommend Czech Bike Tours to any North American cyclists looking to tour in the Czech Republic and Austria. You should skip the big operators and work with someone who can customize your trip and provide top notch personal service. Thank you, Petr, for a trip we will never forget. John and Carol
