The route begins at the north of South Bohemia and continues to historic Třeboň known for its many lakes, passes the most beautiful chateaux Hluboká and leads through Blanský Forest to Český Krumlov, the pearl of South Bohemia (UNESCO), and for three days continues along the Vltava River and Lipno lake to the Šumava National Park. This route is ideal for those seeking out history, natural beauty, and a slower pace of life.

Profile of this day
In the morning we pick you up at your hotel in Prague and take you to the north of South Bohemia. On the first day you can choose from two routes. The first route starts in historic town Tábor, known as the center of the Hussite movement. Continue on your bicycle through gently rolling countryside with pine groves and picturesque lakes. Halfway through the trip you will discover one of the pearls of South Bohemia, the romantic chateau of Červená Lhota, built on a tiny island in the middle of a lake. The second route will be especially appreciated by nature lovers. You will start in Kardašova Řečice, a small village near Tábor. The route is mostly on car-free cycle paths and largely passes through the Třeboňsko protected landscape area, known for its ponds, pine forests, meadows and an area rich in waterfowl. Along the way you will have several opportunities to swim in local sandpits. Both routes will take you to Jindřichův Hradec, a historic town with its own dominant castle. Overnight in Jindřichův Hradec.

Profile of this day
This day you will ride through countryside featuring lakes and pine groves. This picturesque landscape is filled with romantic hideaways, meadows surrounded by forests, and ponds, founded in medieval period by famous hydro engineer Jakub Krčín. In the afternoon you ride to Třeboň, the center of Czech fishing as well as a town rich in Renaissance architecture with its own castle and spa. Overnight in Třeboň.

(27 miles)
Profile of this day
Today several highlights await you! Quite and easy ride, leading firstly through pine forests and ponds to Hluboka nad Vltavou, arguably the most beautiful castle of Czech Republic. Don´t miss the castle tour! After lunch, continue on a new smooth cycle track Greenway RD ( Eurovelo 7 ) along the Vltava river to České Budejovice, the city, that gave the name to the famous Czech beer Budweisser Budvar. We reccommend you to taste the local beer specialities at Masne Kramy restaurant, the flag ship of Budvar Brewery or in the small private brewery Krajinská 27 . Overnight in České Budejovice.
31—50 km
(19—31 miles)
Profile of this day
Today there are two options. A shorter relaxing route leads on the main cycle track Greenway RD ( Eurovelo 7 ), folowing the Vltava river valley through the picturesque villages including Zlata Koruna, with its famous 13th. century monastery and ending in Cesky Krumlov, the pearl of Czech Republic. You can spend the afternoon wandering through the narrow streets, visiting castle museum or just relaxing on the boat trip on the Vltava river. If 30km of cycling is not enough for you, choose the second option. The route leads through rolling terrain to Holasovice (UNESCO), village famous for its “village baroque style” houses and then climbes through Blansky Forest to Cesky Krumlov. If you feel tired, you can use the chairlift in Krasetin which takes you and your bike to Kleť, the highest peak of Blansky forest park. At the top you can take in the views from the stone lookout and then enjoy 11km of downhill riding to Cesky Krumlov. Overnight in Cesky Krumlov.
35—54 km
(22—34 miles)
Profile of this day
In the morning we will transport you by car (about 20 minutes) to Frymburk, a small town on the bank of Lake Lipno. On this day, you can choose from three routes of different lengths, which lead along car-free trails around the lake and the Vltava River. For this reason, you can start in the morning or even in the early afternoon if you want to spend more time in Český Krumlov. The shortest route runs only along the lake with a detour to the ruins of Vitkov Kamen Castle, whose tower offers a beautiful view of Lake Lipno. The other two routes continue along the new cycle path through the national nature reserve Čertova Stěna to Vyšší Brod, the mecca of Czech paddlers and an impressive Cistercian monastery. One of the routes then returns along the other side of the Vltava River back to Lake Lipno and the other one, more challenging, continues along the border with Austria, through the location of abandoned villages. All three routes end in Kyselov, from where you can take a ferry to your hotel on the other side of the lake. Overnight in Dolni Vltavice.
49—60 km
(30—37 miles)
Profile of this day
In the morning, take the ferry back to the other side of the lake. Today’s journey takes you first into Austria, and then the route follows the Schwarzeberg Canal, a national cultural monument, which was used to transport timber in the past. The route leads through the Šumava National Park to Nová Pec, where the Vltava River flows into Lake Lipno. On the other side of the lake, trail 33 will lead you back to your hotel. If you find today’s route short, you can extend it with a detour to Jelení vrchy, where you can also see the Schwarzeberg Canal exposition. Especially on the way from Nova Pec to your hotel you will have many opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. Overnight in Dolní Vltavice.
35—53 km
(22—33 miles)
Profile of this day
Today you can choose from two differently challenging routes. The first easy route leads through the protected area of Boletice, stop off at the newly reconstructed church of Svatý Mikuláš, and continues directly to Český Krumlov. The second route departs from the first one in Boletice and leads you to Český Krumlov via Klet’ (1084 m), the highest peak of the Blanský Forest. Klet’ is a beautiful place! Here you will find a historical lookout tower from where you can often see the Austrian Alps, an astronomical observatory and a local famous restaurant. Reaching this peak would definitely be a great way to finish your trip in style! Overnight in Cesky Krumlov.
Enjoy your last day in Český Krumlov — take a free boat trip on the Vltava river, take a walking tour of the city, discover the city from a wooden raft or visit the castle. There are many things to do here! Transfer by coach to Prague depending on your requirements.
